What’s an Amp-Fibian™?

With an Amp-Fibian™ adapter you can EASILY, SAFELY and

LEGALLY connect your van to any 10amp domestic power

supply. Amp-Fibian™ is a portable adapter so you can take

it anywhere - there’s no easier way to keep your lights on

and your drinks cold when you’re on the road.

Why use one?

If you own a caravan, motorhome or other type of

recreational vehicle, then you’ll know that connecting

your vehicle up to the 240v power in your house is not as

easy as simply running an extension lead. The problem

is, your van’s power source is rated at 15amps (so it can

have many different gadgets and appliances plugged into

it at once) while your house is rated at 10amps. To stop

people plugging one into the other and causing damage

to the power circuit, the plugs and sockets are made

deliberately incompatible.

How it works

Amp-Fibian™ uses a 10amp domestic circuit breaker and

a residual circuit device combination (or RCD for short).

Using this 10amp RCD, Amp-Fibian™ will allow a safe

amount power to be drawn through it, tripping off when

it becomes overloaded.

So you can safely run your lights, fridge, toaster, or

whatever you need, and if you overload the supply

circuit Amp-Fibian™ will cut the power to the van, saving

any damage to the house circuit. You can then unplug

unnecessary items and flick Amp-Fibian™ back to the ‘on’

position, ready to go again. Over time you’ll learn which

combination of appliances can be used at the same time.

No more home-made extension leads

It’s not only unsafe but also highly illegal to modify

a power lead. By making a connection that breaks

Australian law you could forfeit an insurance claim for

damages if something goes wrong.

Any regular power point (10amp) is only designed

to handle a MAXIMUM of 10 amps, that goes for the

powerpoint, the cabling, the whole setup. As soon as the

limits of these components start getting pushed they

will generate heat, which can do all sorts of things to the

integrity of the house wiring, but worst of all can start a

fire.

Australian compliance tick of approval with its own

approval number.
